Workflows

Your experts run the study, not the paperwork.

A HAZOP finds hazards one node and one guideword at a time. The judgment is fast when the preparation is honest. An Intuigent prepares the nodes on the plant as built, pre-screens the deviations with evidence, and documents the sessions, so the experts spend their hours deciding, not drawing.

Why HAZOPs consume the calendar

The method works. Working a design node by node against guidewords (no flow, more flow, reverse flow, more temperature) is how latent hazards get found. The weeks do not go to the method. They go to everything around it.

  • Node drawing is manual. Marking node boundaries across P&ID sheets, listing the equipment and lines inside each, and packaging the drawings for the session is days of work per unit before anyone reasons about a single hazard.
  • Documentation eats the sessions. A scribe capturing causes, consequences, and safeguards in real time slows the room to the typing speed of one person, and the worksheet is only as good as their keeping up.
  • Revalidation against the archive. A revalidation run on archived drawings instead of the as-built plant is a known failure mode: the team studies a plant that no longer exists, and the changes made since the last study are exactly where the new hazards live.
  • Actions outlive the study. Recommendations scatter into spreadsheets and trackers, and closure depends on someone remembering to chase them.

IEC 61882 codifies the method. It does not make the preparation cheaper. The preparation is the part worth automating, because it is the part that is not judgment.

The workflow

Prepared on the plant as built.

The Intuigent works from the compiled graph of your plant, so every node, deviation, and safeguard reference is drawn from the current configuration and cited to it.

01

Draw the nodes

Proposes node boundaries on the as-built graph, with the equipment, lines, and design intent for each, cited to current sheets rather than the archive.

02

Pre-screen the deviations

Applies the guidewords to each node and attaches the evidence for every credible deviation: the line routing, the relief path, the instrument loops that would see it. What is not credible arrives with the reason it is not.

03

Surface what changed

For revalidations, lists every change to each node since the last study: MOCs, drawing revisions, replaced equipment. The delta is where the session's attention belongs.

04

Document the sessions

Captures the team's causes, consequences, safeguards, and recommendations into the worksheet as the discussion runs, so the room moves at the speed of the argument, not the scribe.

05

Track actions to closure

Every recommendation carries an owner, a status, and its link back to the node and the evidence. Nothing closes by being forgotten.

Division of labor

IntuigentDoes the legwork

  • Node boundaries and session packs drawn from the as-built graph
  • Guideword pre-screens with evidence attached per deviation
  • Change deltas per node for revalidations
  • Live session documentation into the worksheet
  • Action tracking with owners, status, and evidence links

Your teamOwns the judgment

  • Runs the study and challenges every pre-screened deviation
  • Judges consequence severity and safeguard adequacy
  • Decides the recommendations and makes the risk calls
  • Signs the study
The line we do not cross. The team runs the study. The AI does not. Judging whether a safeguard is adequate belongs to the people who operate the plant and carry the consequences. The Intuigent's job is narrower and worth doing: make sure that judgment is spent on the plant as built, with the evidence already on the table.
